top ten tuesday (1) colored

This week’s Top Ten Tuesday hosted on the Broke and Bookish is on the best books you’ve read so far in 2015.

So since, I’ve only read 18 books so far this year, I thought the Top 10 was unfair so I narrowed it down to my Top 5 books.

dreams of gods and monsters

P.S. I Still Love You – This was one of my most anticipated books of 2015, and it delivered on so many levels. It finished the story off beautifully.

Dreams of Gods and Monsters – I’ve been slowly going through this series, and while enjoyed the first two. This one blew my mind, I loved everything breathtaking word that Laini Taylor had to say.

New Favorites

A Court of Thorns and Roses –Being honest, I like Sarah J. Maas’ Throne of Glass series, but I am not completely in love with them. But this one was so wonderful. It took me by surprise, how much I ended up loving this book. And the cover is amazing so double points.

This Shattered World –As I said in my review of this one, the first one didn’t knock my socks off. But this one made me love the series, past characters, new characters and future characters. I’m so excited for the next one!

Never Never-I picked this one up because it was too mysterious to not be curious about, I read through both parts, in one sitting and I am DYING to know what happens next.

My Top 10 books I’ve recently added to my TBR

top ten tuesday (1) colored

This week’s Top Ten Tuesday hosted on the Broke and Bookish is about the books I’ve recently added to my TBR! I’m going to cheat a little here, some I’ve recently got and others have been sitting on my TBR shelf for a while now and are just begging to be read.

(Click on the images for the goodreads page.)

Splintered – I’ve had this one for a while now, and let’s be honest it was a total cover buy. But I love fairy tale retellings with a passion, so hopefully I will get to this one very soon.

A Thousand Pieces of You – I picked this one up not too long ago. I was really looking forward to it when it was first coming out and I finally got my hands on it! But I’m a little wary, I’ve heard many mixed things about it. If I end up not liking it at least I have a beautiful cover to flaunt everywhere.

Kiss of Deception- This is another one that I was really excited for when it was being released. Finally I end up buying it and is probably going to be my next read, because I am in a big fantasy kick lately.

Shadow and Bone – Okay, okay. I’ve had this one for months now. I’ve heard so many great things about this series and the author that when I first got it, I was ready to run through it. Although that didn’t happen. But you know what did happen. Me pre-ordering Leigh’s new book Six of Crows. Not entirely sure why I did that because i usually don’t do stuff like that for authors who I haven’t read anything from. So yeah, I REALLY need to get to this one.

Half Bad – Witches. Good. Bad. A sequel that just came out. I couldn’t resist okay.

Serphina – Dragons. I love dragons. But surprisingly I never read a book center around them. What’s wrong with me? So when I saw this, it was a no brainier. It was coming home with moi.

Stolen Songbird – The sequel is coming out soon. (I believe, it might already be out.) And it was only 1.99 as a eBook. It didn’t hurt that I’ve been actually eyeing this one for a while anyways.

Frostbite – I read Vampire Academy last year and enjoyed it quite a bit. So, it was time.

Maybe One Day – I’m not even sure what this is about. But eBook sale… Stop judging. No one has can resist eBook deals.

The Body Electric – Um, I know that this is a Sci-Fi. Pretty much it. It was 99 cents okay! I have no control over my hands when I see a eBook on sale.

My Top 12 Debuts of 2015

This week’s Top Ten Tuesday hosted on the Broke and Bookish is all about the ones that are debuting in 2015! This year I’m taking a jab at Debut Author Challenge this year, at since for that challenge is to read 12 debut books I picked out my top 12 that I’m keeping my eye out for.

(Click on the images for the goodreads page.)

dating downthe conspiracy of useverything that makes you

Dating Down (April 8) – This book just sounds beautiful. A girl fresh out of a bad relationship, dealing with her feelings and written in verse. It sounds like something that can be fun and heart wrenching at the same time. Me likely. And it doesn’t hurt that the cover is beautiful too.

The Conspiracy of Us (Jan 13) – We’re so close to this one! First I love the cover. Secondly, the main character is from a big time rich family, and that just means this will have glamorous moments which I love. Thirdly it’s also a mystery! I’m not going to be able to stay away.

Everything That Makes You (Mar 17) – I have mixed feelings about this but it sounds so interesting that I have to take a go at it. Basically it’s about a girl who has scar across her face making her an outcast at school. But the part that kinda freaks me out but pulls me in is that there is an alternate reality twist to it. Taking place of if she never got scarred and was the girl everyone liked. I love the concept and I’m very interested in seeing how the author approaches it.

Last Year’s Mistake (Jun 9) – This just sounds like a cute contemporary. I just can’t resist those cute contemporaries.

The Night We Said Yes (Jun 16) – This is set in Orlando. Enough to buy me, I’ve never read a book based in my hometown and I’m hoping to know about the places they talk about when reading this one. Very excited.

Hello, I love you (Jun 9) – Another cute contemporary. With K-pop in it, so why not?

Simon VS. The Homo Sapiens Agenda (Apr 7) – I sense a coming-of-age story. And I’m so ready for it.

Anne & Henry (TBA) – Anne as Anne Boleyn? Henry as the infamous Henry Tudor? In high school? Like what. I just need to see how this one plays out. And the caption on the cover doesn’t help it at all. “a love worth losing your head for” I can’t even.

The Wrong Side of Right (Mar 17) – It looks like the only thing I’m excited for are contemporaries this year. Kinda loving it. I really like this cover. Yes, I’m basing my opinion on covers.

From Where I Watch You (Aug 4) – The main character, Kara. Seems to have her future all planed out. But then someone starts sending her notes bring up her past. A past that contains a dead sister.. I’m already getting goosebumps. I don’t read a lot of mysteries but I do enjoy them so totally keeping my eyes on this one. And 10 bucks Kara probably killed her sister.

My Heart and Other Black Holes (Feb 10) – This one will probably rip out my heart. So I’m going to start preparing now.

Red Queen (Feb 10) – Everyone is excited about this one! And it’s freaking hard not to get pumped for something that already is getting so much attention. Fingers crossed is perfection. But it Fantasy so that in itself is a win.

Overall, 2015 is going to be a killer year for debuts. I’m excited to read as many as possible.

Top Ten | To Read or Not to Read?

Top Ten Tuesday is a feature that The Broke and The Bookish hosts weekly.
This week is all about the books that you maybe want to read or maybe not. Basically asking is the book worth the hype?

So this is my list. They’re mostly series that I’ve been hearing a lot of things about, but never got around to. So you tell me To Read or Not To Read?

1. Under the Never Sky – I’ve seen this triology around for a while now, but I’m not sold on it yet.
2. The Darkest Minds – The third book is coming out soon, but is it worth starting the series?
3. Across the Universe – The covers are so beautiful.

4. The Girl of Fire and Thorns
5. Shadow and Bone
6. Daughter of Smoke and Bone

7. Angelfall
8. Sweet Evil
9. City of Bones
– I’ve actually read this one but it was a really long time ago. I’m not sure if I should re-read it and continue on with the series. I suck at completing series.

10. Mistborn Trilogy – Let’s be real the UK covers are everything.

Which one should I read first?  Any that I shouldn’t bother with? Link up your Top Ten I would love to read them.

Top Ten | Favorite Movies and TV Shows

Top Ten Tuesday is a feature that The Broke and The Bookish hosts weekly. Giving themes for each week. And this week we’re talking about our favorite movies/tv shows.

1.  The Breakfast Club

This film is perfection. Enough said.

2. Pretty Little Liars

Yes, how typical of me. But this show is actually really good, and even though we went through a phase together. Where I spent a lot of time away from this show. It is still one of my favorite tv shows of all time. And no, I haven’t read the books. It just feels like such a daunting task to complete. Because there’s 15 of them. and my friend who have read the books, basically told me all the differences in the plot. that counts for something right?

3. Game of Thrones

Must I explain this? now, I feel ashamed. I haven’t read these books either. oops?

 photo tumblr_molgz185Et1spl78ko1_500_zps85d6996a.gif

4. Vikings

The filming and styling of this reminds me so much of Game of Thrones. I love anything that has THAT feel to it. And Vikings are so complex and I love seeing ‘how they were like’. It’s by the History channel, so it’s the closest I’ll ever get to seeing a real Viking.

5. A Tuscan Wedding

Okay, now this might need a little explaining. So you probably never heard of this movie which is fair. Because this is a dutch film that takes place in Tuscany, Italy. And no, I don’t speak Dutch. that is why subtitles were born After I watched this movie, I just felt happy. Like the happiness you get and just want to share it with everyone around, not caring if you’re annoying the hell out of them happy. Even though the concept wasn’t a 100% original, I thought it was a fantastic love story. And bonus the lead guy is smoking hot.

6. The Big Bang Theory

Sheldon Cooper. Is. The. Best. Watching this show, and actually understanding the jokes make me feel smarter.

 photo 2511_zps63a5981e.gif

7. Supernatural

I just started watching this show and I still have a long way to go to catch up. it’s going to take a while, they are 9 freaking seasons. But it is so good, I can’t even fully explain how good this show is. I was hooked on it within the first 10 minutes. And I probably made all my friends happy by watching it. They’ve been literally telling me to watch it for about a year now. Why I haven’t until now? I have no idea. But boy was I missing out.

8. The Originals

It’s funny how this got on the list and not Vampire Diaries. I mean it is a spin-off off of that show. that was a lot of ‘o’s and ‘f’s

9. Any superhero movie that stepped into existence.

I’m not kidding when I say all of them. They can be the worse put together superhero movie the world has ever seen. And it will still be loved by me. Even if I’m the only one loving it. It doesn’t even have to be actual superhero from comic books. Sky High was the movie that probably started my obsession. And that’s a Disney Channel movie.

10. Pirates of Caribbean Series

When I was growing up, what do you mean growing up, you’re still growing up. these were my most anticipated releases of my life. I remember going to the theater to watch the first one and just falling in love with it. And waiting for them to release the next one. Then going to the theaters and the cycle repeats itself again. The cycle is still repeating itself. Not that I mind, I wish it will keep repeating for a very long time.

This was really fun to talk about. I’m such a tv and movic fanatic and I love talking about them. There some of my favorite things to talk about. And I just go on and on about it, but you probably have better things to do.

Any recommendations of what I should watch?
